The Gemstones Miners and Marketers Association of Nigeria (GMMAN) is set to host the biggest edition yet of the Nigerian Gem and Jewelry Exhibition (NGJE) from August 25th to 27th, 2025, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Now recognized as the country’s premier platform for the gemstone and jewelry industry, the NGJE continues to attract a growing number of local and international stakeholders — including artisanal miners, jewelry designers, exporters, investors, researchers, and policymakers.
Over the years, the exhibition has featured:
- Live gemstone cutting and jewelry-making demonstrations
- High-level panel discussions on sustainable mining, value addition, and export strategies
- B2B networking and business matchmaking sessions
- Showcases of Nigeria’s top gemstones, including tourmaline, sapphire, aquamarine, garnet, and topaz
- Empowerment sessions focused on supporting women and youth in the gemstone trade
The 2025 edition promises to be the most dynamic yet, with new features such as:
- A Gemstone Fashion Runway showcasing locally crafted jewelry on models
- Virtual Reality experiences of the gemstone mine-to-market journey
- Expanded participation from international buyers, particularly from Asia, the Middle East, and Europe
GMMAN President stated, “This year’s NGJE is more than an exhibition — it’s a national economic showcase. We are bringing visibility to the enormous potential in Nigeria’s gemstone sector while creating meaningful business and empowerment opportunities.”
With Nigeria’s solid minerals sector gaining momentum as a viable alternative to oil, NGJE 2025 is positioned to highlight how gemstones can drive sustainable development, exports, and job creation.
Participation is open to industry professionals, students, entrepreneurs, and the general public. Registration is currently ongoing.
